What You Will Hear:  Almost all vocals, both verbal and non-verbal, often performed by the stars of the movie.  Synth.  Light piano and guitar.

Standout Tracks: Welcome to the HoF!  Every track is worth your time!  Our favorites: Cave Ballad, History of the Universe, Jurassic Park, Montage, Underwater, River Rocket, Goodbye/Hello, Finale, A Better Way

Will You Be Humming Along?  Good luck getting Montage out of your head.  (You won’t want to…)  The melody from Cave Ballad also shows up from time to time and is delightfully depressing.

Rescued. I thought I was rescued, but you're just a dead dude. And I'm gonna die.
The album this makes me want to dust off:  Little Miss Sunshine – Mychael Danna & DeVotchKa

Will I come back to it?  This is one of the strangest scores I’ve ever heard.  It is also one of the most mesmerizing and enjoyable.  Swiss Army Man is sometimes funny, sometimes spooky, but always touching.  Paul Dano and Daniel Radcliffe perform on almost every track; their voices (along with the rest of the performers) are appropriately ghost-like.  At no point does Swiss Army Man take itself too seriously.  And this is its greatest strength.  From humming John Williams’ “Jurassic Park” (complete with singing the words “Jurassic Park” at the final cadence), to “Montage” where they are literally just singing exactly what is happening on screen – it is all (unsettling) fun.  The score probably fits wonderfully with the movie, and it is a bonus for us that it also works as a stand-alone listening experience.  Every cue is truly experimental, and every moment is completely engrossing.
