Robot OVerlords - Christian Henson

5/31/15
by RICHARD S.  @MBIEHNFAN101

Picture
What You Will Hear:  A fairly prominent string section, light choir, and mostly electronic soundscapes.

Standout Tracks:
  They Mean Business, Smythe

Will you be humming along?
  No, it's rather anonymous.

The score this makes me want to dust off:  Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow - Edward Shearmur

Will I come back to it?  Not really.  Even thought Henson's Grabbers grew in complexity, Robot Overlords simple devolves.  There are one or two pleasant moments, such as the closing section of Smythe's Grand Plan.  However, the effect is too scattershot to be compelling.  Also, the grating electronics add very little to the mix.  Overall, this clash of sounds resembles confusion and distortion.  Hardly a revolution.
