Reach Me - Tree Adams

1/9/15

Picture
The cast is almost as eclectic as the score.

Thank you!
What You Will Hear:  Thomas Newman-like writing (both the lush and quirky sounds he's known for) mixed with funk, pop, rock, and jazz.  Be ready for a very active guitar & percussion section.

Standout Tracks: Opening Theme, Roger Doesn't Believe, Tourettes Stuntman, Time Is Running Out, Anticipating Teddy, Teddy Speaks

Will you be humming along?  Doubtful, but I think you'll be tapping along to some of the percussion parts.

The score this makes me want to dust off:  Phenomenon - Thomas Newman

Will I come back to it?  I had no prior knowledge for this one. Wasn't even sure what the movie was about before the promo arrived.  After the first track, I thought I was in for a lush but tender string score.  However, after that opening, the score explores a wide variety of textures.  It was an enjoyable ride: some very thoughtful tracks mixed in with some fun ones.  Unfortunately, many of the tracks are over before they really get going, so check out the longer ones listed above.  I'll definitely be coming back to those standout cues.  This score touches on so many moods - playful, lovely, hip - I say check it out.
