Playing it Cool - Jake Monaco (with Andrew Feltenstein, & John Nau)

2/1/15

Picture
Ouch.
Picture
Ear worm alert.
What You Will Hear:  Playful orchestra with electric guitar.

Standout Tracks:  What Is Love, Charity Case, First Date, Yoga, Shoebox, Samson's Serf Story, Grandpa Dies, Love Hate Relationship

Will you be humming along?  There is a repeated statement from the guitar that will stick with you.  (See ear worm alert.)

The score this makes me want to dust off:  About A Boy - Badly Drawn Boy

Pet Peeve Alert:  Do not put one full synth orchestra track on an otherwise live instrument score:  Battle.

Will I come back to it?  This is a fun RomCom score.  I wish the tracks had more time to develop, but even in their brevity, the cues are entertaining.  You'll hear an equal mix of humor and tenderness.  I'll have it playing in the background whenever I need something to keep the mood light.
