Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb - Alan Silvestri

12/17/14

Picture
Those wax figures look so real!
What You Will Hear:  Familiar themes and tonalities from the previous two films.  Avengers meets Mummy Returns.  Bonus: A few quotes from Silvestri's rarely used Back to the Future vocabulary.

Standout Tracks:  The Grand Re-Opening, Sneak And Greet, Xiangliu, A Farewell Kiss, Teddy's Goodbye

Will you be humming along?  If you've seen or heard the other films, you'll feel right at home.  If not, it won't take long.

The score this makes me want to dust off:  Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas - Harry Greyson-Williams

Will I come back to it?  I'll check in with the standout tracks from time to time, but overall: no.  Even though this is the strongest of the three, I've never been a fan of the series.  The action cues feel too slapstick, and the comedic cues are too childish.  But I'm not a child, so I guess that's ok, isn't it?  You should give it a try - don't listen to me.  I'm pretty sure I'm wrong on this one.
