Interstellar (Deluxe Version) - Hans Zimmer                                                                        11/20/14

Picture
She's no NCC-1701, but I'm intrigued.
  • What You Will Hear:  Organ!  Synth.  Piano.  Sometimes simple and repetitive.  Other times flourishing and complex.
  • Standout Tracks: Cornfield Chase, Dust, Day One, Stay, I'm Going Home, S.T.A.Y.
  • Will you be humming along?  There is a simple minor motif that has stuck with me.  It starts as a repeated fifth that then compresses while maintaining the top pitch - P4, M3, and M2.
  • The score this makes me want to dust off:  Blade Runner - Vangelis
  • Will I come back to it?  Yes.  Mystery mixes with joy/awe so well on this score.  I love organ.  And, I love Zimmer giving us something new.  Cornfield Chase might make it into my top 5 tracks of the year.
