Dragon Heart 3: The Sorcerer's Curse  Mark McKenzie

3/22/15
REVIEWED BY RICHARD S. - @MBIEHNFAN101

Picture
Wasn't Draco the last one...?
What You Will Hear:  At 1:08 of One Rejected Knight, McKenzie dips into David Julyan's Memento, specifically Opening Titles/Polaroid Fades.  The clichés continue around 0:24 of The Poor Are First To Suffer And First To help with a rhythmic device similar to Don Davis' The Matrix.  Also, several tracks nod towards Randy Edelman's overrated Dragonheart.

Standout Tracks:
Clans Stirred To War, Wrong Assumptions, Desires Can Spoil a Dream and a Heart

Will you be humming along?
No.  From top to bottom, this score seems completely unmemorable.

The piece this makes me want to dust off:
The Island of Dr. Moreau - Gary Chang

Will I come back to it?
No.  For the most part, Dragon Heart 3: The Sorcerer's Curse
sounds like an underachieving television score.  When the themes need to be big, McKenzie sounds the retreat.
